A Dream to Give Elephants a Better Life
Forever Free Elephant Sanctuary was born from a life-changing experience in Thailand.
During his first visit to Thailand, founder Todd Goodrich had the opportunity to be close to an elephant at a riding camp. At the time, he didn't fully understand what happened behind the scenes, but looking into that elephant's eyes left an impression he would never forget.
As Todd learned more about the treatment many elephants endure in the tourism and entertainment industries, that experience took on a deeper meaning. He began to understand the suffering that can exist behind the scenes and realized that elephants deserved something different.
They deserved to be free.
The Beginning of Forever Free
What started as a personal experience gradually became a much larger dream: to create a safe and compassionate place where elephants can live with dignity, space, companionship, and proper care.
Forever Free Elephant Sanctuary is being created with the belief that elephants should be respected for who they are, not for what they can do for people.
The vision is simple: create an environment where elephants can live as naturally as possible, surrounded by care and compassion rather than fear, chains, or exploitation.
Building the Sanctuary
Forever Free Elephant Sanctuary is currently in the early stages of becoming a reality.
There is still much work to be done, including finding the right land in Thailand, developing the necessary infrastructure, establishing responsible care practices, and building the resources needed to provide elephants with a safe and sustainable home.
We believe that creating a sanctuary is something that must be done thoughtfully and responsibly. Every decision should ultimately serve one purpose: the wellbeing of the elephants.
A Family Mission
For Todd, Forever Free is more than an elephant sanctuary. It is also a family mission.
His dream is to build something meaningful alongside his family and create a shared purpose that can continue for generations.
Together, they hope to create a place where compassion, responsibility, and love for elephants can become something lasting.
